Meet Terry Darmer, Food and Beverage Manager at The Flamingo Hotel

In Terry’s short time here, he has already proven to be a huge asset to the property. He has made it his mission to make poolside service a great experience for members and guest. He is hosting a 3rd of July bbq and party this week and he has spent endless hours working on food quality and creating a great guest experience. If you haven’t visited the Terrace Grille in a while, we suggest you give it a try. You will notice the change.

We sat down with Terry and asked him a few questions:








Favorite place you worked before your gig here?

Embassy Suites in South Lake Tahoe. Loved learning the Hilton mindset and the true sense of hospitality. And of course, it was in Tahoe which was great.

Favorite item on our menu?

Definitely the Short ribs on our dinner menu. They are braised for 2 ½ - 3hours in a sauce that takes 4 hours to cook. The texture and flavor are just spectacular.
On a day off what do you do and where do you eat?
Well, lately there haven’t been many but when I do get a day off I love to golf. I also love to drive along the coast. I recently discovered Agave in Healdsburg and love this place. I am a bit of a margarita snob and theirs are to die for. Their food is fresh and delicious and definitely worth the drive.
Favorite place to travel?

Tahoe. I try to get up there 4-5 times a year and it doesn’t matter what time of year. I love it all seasons. Favorite place to eat in Tahoe has to be Edgewood Restaurant at the Edgewood Tahoe Resort. I have been there at least 20 times and it never disappoints.
